Sclerotherapy is performed by injecting an irritant directly into the spider vein. By injecting this medication into the vein, it will shrink down in size. Often times, patients will notice immediate relief of physical symptoms and the vein will no longer be noticeable under the skin.
Previously, concentrated saline and other irritants were used to treat spider veins. Vegas Valley Vein Institute uses Asclera® for a safer and more comfortable alternative. The medication irritates the vein walls causing them to adhere and to close. The vein then slowly turns into scar tissue and disappears. Sclerotherapy takes about 30 minutes to complete in our offices and is considered highly effective when done correctly. In some cases the same vein may require multiple injections and repeat treatments over time.

“I started getting spider veins in my 20s and was embarrassed to wear shorts and skirts. And living in Las Vegas, it is too hot to wear pants all the time. Dr. Simon was very professional and was able to get rid of what I had AND stop new veins from appearing. THANK YOU DR. SIMON!!!”
