Over the years many different solutions have been used to inject or sclerose spider veins. Our physicians, always at the forefront of medicine, offer the recently FDA approved medication called Asclera®.
Asclera® is a sclerosing agent that is injected into the vein. It works by damaging the endothelium, the cells lining the inside of blood vessels. This causes blood platelets to attach to the lining of the vessels; eventually, cellular debris and platelets cause the blood vessel to clot. Over time, the clotted vein will be replaced with scar tissue.
Asclera® treatment has a safer profile than older injection agents. Specifically it is known to cause less irritation and less risk of discoloration in the skin surrounding the areas of treatment. Asclera® treatment is performed in under thirty minutes in office. No anesthesia is required. Patients normally may require several sessions to achieve desired results in each leg.

“I started getting spider veins in my 20s and was embarrassed to wear shorts and skirts. And living in Las Vegas, it is too hot to wear pants all the time. Dr. Simon was very professional and was able to get rid of what I had AND stop new veins from appearing. THANK YOU DR. SIMON!!!”
